One Man With a Passion

Hello, my name is Attila. I am an electrical and computer engineer with a passion to build great sounding guitar effect pedals. I have been working as a data warehouse and Business Intelligence expert for about 25 years. However, at the start of Covid in 2020, I felt the need to start building something physical. I have been playing guitar since I was 15 years old. Connecting my love for music with my love for electronics was a no brainer.

Why Germanium?

My love for germanium diodes and transistors comes from my dad who was an electrical engineer all his life. He is retired now but is still a constant source of ideas. My goal was to build classic germanium driven circuits with modern upgrades to appeal to today's musicians.

Germanium devices require a more individual approach and therefore are harder to mass produce. Diodes and transistors are individually tested and sorted. They are tested in the circuit they are intended for because the measurements don't tell the full story. The bias is set, the noise levels are checked then the pedal is built. Further tests with gig level volume on a tube amplifier are conducted. The more pedals I build the more my ear gets attuned to what I am looking for. I purchased original versions of the pedals I am making to make comparisons to ensure consistency as much as possible.

Each germanium driven pedal sounds ever so slightly different, and that's the beauty of it. Each pedal is an adventure, I try to bring out the best of the high quality components that go in the pedal. And once it leaves my hands then the real adventure begins, inspiring musicians to create art to enrich our lives.

The Enclosures

My Greek Alphabet series pedals are the workhorse versions of the circuits that I build into a durable powder coated aluminum 125B size die-cast box. Perfect size to go on any pedalboard.

My Vintage Radio series pedals are inspired by vintage radio sets of the 1960s and 1970s with their warm bakelite tones, rounded edges, and analog dials. These aren't just pedals — they're objects you want to look at on your pedalboard, conversation starters, small pieces of functional art.

The Young Artist series pedals are individual expressions of art. They are hand drawn by my daughter. No two pedals look alike. If you want a truly individual looking pedal with a classic circuit inside then this is your chance to have it.

Hand Built One At a Time

The beauty of pedals that are hand built is that each pedal can be adjusted to personal tastes. If you like a vintage circuit to have a certain feel and sound I try my best to accommodate that. If you see a pedal but would like to change the knobs or the colour of the enclosure I can do that! I build most of my pedals on a build to order basis. Please let me know if you want something done differently.
